The Household Book is being written.

I've spent about four years writing things down. How a woman I met keeps ants out of her kitchen without buying a spray. How a man held the heat in an old house through a bad winter on next to nothing. Then the same methods turning up again in household manuals from 1890 and 1911, books nobody reprints any more.

It's going to be a printed thing. Large type, set out room by room, with a ruled line beside every method so you can write down what worked for you. There's a page at the front where you put your name, and underneath it, who it goes to after. That's really what it's for.

It isn't finished yet. But the first chapter is, the kitchen, and what will and won't cross a doorway. I'll send it to you for nothing.
